In this segment we will be explaining how the whole event has occurred. We will be play a news audio clip which will help explain what we will be talking about. The audio clip will tell us what is happening in recent months.
Based on the historical facts, Hong Kong was returned to China in nineteen ninety-seven. Hong Kong and China have been ruled by different systems for a period of fifty years since eighteen eighty-four. The concept of “one country, two systems” was raised by Deng Xiaoping, the Paramount Leader of China at that time. This concept made Hong Kong and China separated into two different systems. In two-thousand forty-seven, Hong Kong will change back to the communist system.
The protest started in June two-thousand forty-seven. The purpose, in the beginning, was to fight against the approvals of the extradition bill. The extradition bill allowed the criminal suspects to be transferred to mainland China. The citizens are afraid that the political critics such as activists and journalists will become the target of extradition. Later in September two-thousand nineteen, the bill was withdrawn by the government because of the serious protests. Yet, the purpose for now, is seeking the full democracy of the Hong Kong citizens and questioning the police actions. After explaining this, we will move to our interview segment by introducing the quest.
